The Systems Engineer (Architecure) role(s) requires candidates to have three (3) or more years of professional experience supporting DoD related Systems Engineering (SE) activities.

Additional Requirements & Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics.

– Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required – U.S. Citizenship is required.

– Three years of systems engineering experience related to architecture development to include developing and reviewing SEPs, TEMPs, IRS, risk assessments, DoD architectures, or analysis of alternatives for DoD programs.

– Must be a quick learner who adapts easily to frequently changing requirements and thrives in an exciting environment.

Desired Skills

– Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI.

– Knowledge of US Navy programs and architectures

– Experience supporting cross-SYSCOM engineering efforts

– Experience supporting systems integration and/or interoperability test efforts.

– Knowledge of tactical data links

– Exercise independent judgment and work autonomously with minimal supervision

– Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues

Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:

– Works as part of a team supporting the program office with Systems Engineering activities related to architecture development

– Develops and maintains architectures, specifications, and standards.

– Develops engineering documentation throughout the RDTE life cycle and support review and adjudication activities for items such as System Design Specifications, DoDAF architecture documents, TEMPs, IV&V plans, and software management plans.

– Assist in the development and update of AoAs determinations in support of program milestone requirements

– Support risk identification and assessments

– Reviews Request for Change (RFC) and Enterprise Change Requests (ECRs)

– Prepares technical presentations, briefings, and papers to address systems engineering status.

– Works independently with minimal supervision/oversight in a team environment.

Work Posture

– Must be committed to working on-site at Kitty Hawk Technologies, partner, or customer facilities in San Diego, California or Dahlgren, VA.

Travel

– Some travel may be required for this position (CONUS and OCONUS).
