As a growing company, we are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our King George, VA team and support the Vaval Surface Warfare Center.

Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:
– Works as part of a team to support DOD and Navy surface weapon programs and initiatives,
– Supports the development of systems engineering documentation including Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), System Requirements Documents (SRD), Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrices (RTVMs), Configuration Management Plans (CMP), and other systems engineering artifacts.
– Supports the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process by preparing for and supporting Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and other events throughout the life cycle of the program.
– Champions model-based systems engineering (MBSE) wherever possible to develop engineering artifacts
– Coordinates with program leadership and engineering teams to align engineering efforts and to ensure system development aligns to warfighter needs.
– Coordinates with engineers to ensure system requirements and test-bed capabilities are aligned to support test and evaluation activities.
– Supports Risk Management efforts to identify, analyze, and minimize programmatic and technical risks.
– Prepares technical presentations, briefings, and papers to support program status updates to sponsors.

Requirements

The Systems Engineer role requires candidates to have seven (7) or more years of experience supporting DoD Engineering activities

Additional Requirements & Qualifications

- Seven (7) years of experience in Systems Engineering related to US Navy or DoD programs
- Three (3) years of experience in development or integration of combat systems, sensors, or weapon systems for US Navy or programs
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline.
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for SCI or active TS/SCI is required – U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Experience with MBSE using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler or Enterprise Architect
- Understanding of Agile processes and ceremonies
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering or integrated product teams (IPTs)
- Experience assisting with the development of systems engineering documentation, including Acquisition Strategies and Roadmaps, Configuration Management (CM) plans, Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Performance Specifications, Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrices (RTVMs), and Test and Evaluation Strategies (TES).
- Experience supporting Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Events, including Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR)
- Experience developing schedules in Microsoft Project and DoD Risk Management practices

Desired Skills

- Master’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline.
- Experience authoring systems engineering documentation Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP), and other process documentation (Program Management Plans, Configuration Management plans)
- Experience with Systems of Systems (SoS) development
- Knowledge of Naval Surface Warfare programs
- Knowledge of the Aegis Combat System or Ship Self Defense System
- Knowledge of radar, electronic warfare, or HPM systems
- Experience supporting program offices (PEO IWS, MDA) in an engineering role

Work Posture

- Must be committed to working on-site at the Kitty Hawk King George, VA office or government customer facility. Flexible work arrangement may be available as dictated by customer support requirements.

- Some travel may be required dependent on contract requirements.
