The Staff Officer role requires candidates to have five (5) or more years of experience supporting Engineering Services.

Additional Requirements & Qualifications

– Five (5) years of experience in staff officer support as applied to Navy/Joint warfighting systems.
– Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline.
– Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for SCI or active TS/SCI is required – U.S. Citizenship is required.
– Ability to brief Flag Officers and Senior Executive Service (SES) personnel on program status.
– Ability to coordinate across functional areas within the program.
– Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
– Understanding of Joint (OSD Level) Exercise development.
– Must be a quick learner who adapts easily to frequently changing requirements and thrives in an exciting environment.

Desired Skills

— Knowledge of Naval Surface Warfare programs and architectures
– Surface Navy operational experience
– Experience supporting joint force Field Training Exercises (FTX)
– Effectively contribute on teams developing rigorous analytic solutions
– Exercise independent judgment and work autonomously with minimal supervision
– Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues

Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:

— Provides support directly to the Program Office as a Staff Officer.
– Assists and coordinates in all three major areas (Prototype Integration, Assessments, Operations) directly for the Program Office.
– Attends meetings and briefs Flag Officers and SES personnel as required on program status.
– Works with exercise planners to integrate prototypes into risk reduction, graduation, and joint exercise events (NE/VS).
– Required to understand the technical capabilities of prototypes and how they plan to support the joint force.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/oversight in a team environment.

Work Posture

– Must be committed to working on-site at the Pentagon and Crystal City. Flexible work arrangement may be available as dictated by customer support requirements.

Travel

– Travel is required for this position and includes at least five plus weeks of CONUS/OCONUS support
