We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking a Sr. Model Based Systems Engineer with eight (8) or more years of experience Cameo System Modeler in support of Engineering Services to work in the Dahlgren, Virginia area. Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:
– Works as part of a team to support an RDTE project in developing system architectures using the SysML language and Cameo Systems Modeler toolset.
– Perform MBSE efforts in Cameo (requirements development, documentation, architecture documentation, traceability, SysML and Parametric representations, etc.) for an anti-ship cruise missile test target and associated Modeling and Simulation (M&S) efforts
– Document system architecture and requirements using Cameo System Modeler
– Work with Program Manager and Missile Engineers to develop, derive, and track requirements.
– Work with developers and missile engineers to develop appropriate verification and validation of requirements
– Work with program manager and technical leads to track requirements, change requests, configuration control changes, and risks and mitigation plans
– Adheres to existing project SysML style guidance.
– Participates in recurring Technical Exchange Meetings to align model development with project milestones and requirements.
– Prepares technical presentations, briefings, and papers to address model development status.
– Works independently with minimal supervision/oversight in a team environment.

Requirements

– Must be committed to working on-site at the KHT office or government customer facility. Flexible work arrangement may be available as dictated by customer support requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Eight (8) years of experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE), specifically Cameo System Modeler
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD clearance is a must – U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Experience with industry- standard architecture and modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (DoDAF, UAF).
- Knowledge in an industry standard architecture tool (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect).
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be a quick learner who adapts easily to frequently changing requirements and thrives in an exciting environment.
