The HSI Engineer role(s) requires candidates to have four (4) or more years of professional experience supporting government related Research & Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition.

Additional Requirements & Qualifications
— Bachelor’s degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics.
– Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required – U.S. Citizenship is required.
– Four years of HSI engineering experience to include experience with design documentation, engineering analysis, task analysis, understanding of naval operations, or test and evaluation.
– Experience supporting HSI related performance and risk analysis.
– Must be a quick learner who adapts easily to frequently changing requirements and thrives in an exciting environment.
Desired Skills
– Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI.
– Six years of HSI engineering experience to include experience with design documentation, engineering analysis, task analysis, understanding of naval operations, or test and evaluation.
– Systems Engineering Management experience
– Knowledge of US Navy programs and architectures
– Experience supporting cross-SYSCOM engineering efforts
– Experience supporting systems integration and/or interoperability test efforts.
– Knowledge of tactical data links
– Exercise independent judgment and work autonomously with minimal supervision
– Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues
Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:
– Works as part of a team supporting the program office in integrating human considerations into systems engineering.
– Conducts analysis on the design of devices and systems for human use.
– Participates in Systems Integration and Interoperability Testing.
– Participates in Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout activities of systems.
– Participates in recurring Technical Exchange Meetings to align HSI considerations to engineering requirements.
– Prepares technical presentations, briefings, and papers to address model development status.
– Works independently with minimal supervision/oversight in a team environment.
Work Posture
– Must be committed to working on-site at Kitty Hawk Technologies, partner, or customer facilities in San Diego, California.
Travel
– Some travel may be required for this position (CONUS and OCONUS).
