We have an immediate opening for a Computing Infrastructure Engineer/Architect to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Kitty Hawk employees work closely with our customers to develop solutions that support national engineering and security missions, and the ideal candidate will support our team in providing program support to the Department of Defense (DoD). Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking an Engineer/Architect with 1+ years of experience in support of DoD engineering services to work in the Dahlgren, Virginia area.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Sustain the integrated Digital Engineering (DE) ecosystem (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint)
  • Connect disparate engineering tools to establish a continuous Digital Thread that empowers cross-functional technical collaboration, collaborative systems engineering, and rapid design iteration
  • Align roadmaps with applicable sprints, technical risks, and systems engineering tasks directly with system design to support iterative design and development iterations
  • Define requirements to develop queries and extract technical data directly from the system model to generate dynamic engineering outputs
    Provide support to live analytics dashboards to visualize real-time design maturity, system risk, and requirement verification metrics
  • Conduct model QA and query the CI configuration to validate data integrity, structural completeness, and strict adherence to ontological standards
  • Translate raw model data and outputs into actionable engineering insights

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance is necessary – U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining digital threads between tools to track and maintain computing infrastructure requirements
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence to organize, track, and analyze tasking between integrated product teams
  • Experience supporting Naval Surface Warfare or Missile Defense Agency programs
  • Ability to perform configuration management and quality assurance of digital artifacts throughout the program’s life cycle

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Science, or Math field
  • Two to five years of experience in digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, and/or Agile systems engineering for DoD use cases
  • Experience with combat systems engineering activities
  • Active TS/SCI or active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues

Travel:

  • Some limited travel may be required to support this position

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person and on-site at a government facility
