We have an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator (Linux) to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Dahlgren, Virginia. The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for system administration and customer support of servers and workstations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Linux Admin will provide support for application installation, licenses management, software tracking/distribution and backup/recovery of system configurations and user data files. Assist users in applying for accounts, and approving user access
- Perform system administration functions to ensure a high level of availability of the simulation systems
- Collaborate with the Government and other Contractor personnel to coordinate system administration activities on the installed simulation systems
- Receive, distribute, install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, simulation systems, application computer programs, and user accounts on the simulation systems
- Install and configure operating system and simulation applications
- Provide system administration technical assistance for test or training events
- Maintain records of system administration activities on all assigned simulation systems
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance is necessary – U.S. Citizenship is required
- A minimum of four (4) years demonstrated experience in system administration of Linux-based workstations
- Must have well-developed Linux system management skills
- Must meet DoD 8140 certification criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire
- Must have demonstrated experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000-$95,000 per year
