We have an immediate opening for a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to join our team. The candidate will support coordination of ground test planning, design, fabrication, test execution, and analysis requiring a thorough knowledge of system engineering and integration concepts. The candidate will be working on one-of-a-kind systems on the cutting edge of aerothermal and high speed impact technology in the fast paced DoD test environment. The candidate must be an independent self-starter who can provide direct customer support with a strong background to solve complicated aerothermal design challenges. The candidate will conduct design trades and develop design solutions for mechanical systems supporting applications to Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) and ground test designs. The candidate will be required to design and lead complex aerothermal subsystem validation testing. Responsibilities will also include design of prototype hardware, developing specifications and requirement documentation, and overseeing manufacturing and fabrication efforts. The candidate will be required to support the generation of design drawings and system schematics as well as conduct analyses to support and substantiate design approaches. Additional responsibilities will include generation of test plans, technical reports, and presentations documenting the work performed.

Duties include:

-Aerothermal system / sub system and design
-Test environment definition
-Test execution to include laboratory tests, room and elevated temperature design verification and validation tests, component qualification tests, etc.
-Test data collection, formatting, analysis and reporting
-High temperature test fixture design and development
-Test article instrumentation
-Internal coordination machine shop, design team, analysis team and support staff

Requirements

Candidate is required to have good written, presentation, and oral skills as this job requires:

-External coordination with Government customers and key stakeholders
-Scheduling, coordination, task assignment, progress reporting, etc.
-Documentation such as test plans and reports, white papers, trade studies, and procedure documentation
-Presentation of system design and testing activities to stakeholders
-Contribution to proposal writing
-Ability to working in a team environment

Technical skills required include:

-Working knowledge of CAD modeling
-Ability to read and review design drawings
-Understanding of fabrication and tolerances
-Using drawings to determine material purchase specifications
